Information Gathered

China Visa Services will collect personal information from the application form which you submit to us upon instruction; passports and any other documentation provided to us for the purposes of your visa application. This will include but is not limited to the User's name, contact details such as your address, phone and email, holiday destination, travel history, and credit/debit card details. It could also include 'sensitive' information such as medical history and criminal convictions involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance.

Information Gathered

China Visa Services will collect personal information from the application form which you submit to us upon instruction; passports and any other documentation provided to us for the purposes of your visa application. This will include but is not limited to the User's name, contact details such as your address, phone and email, holiday destination, travel history, and credit/debit card details. It could also include 'sensitive' information such as medical history and criminal convictions involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

China Visa Services uses your personal information to assess your suitability for a visa application and submit a visa application on your behalf. For the purpose of providing you with our services, we will disclose the information to third parties such as Embassies, High Commissions and foreign passport offices (who could be located outside the UK/EEA).

In order for you to travel overseas, it may be mandatory (as requested by government authorities) to disclose your information for immigration, security and anti-terrorism purposes, or any other purposes which they determine appropriate. Even if not mandatory, we may exercise our discretion to assist where appropriate. China Visa Services also uses information held about you in the following ways:

  • To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us
  • To notify you about changes to our service

China Visa Services does not sell or pass on data to any third parties but we may use your data on behalf of a third party.

China Visa Services may also collect details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

We may also disclose information to organisations who act as "data processors" on our behalf, or to other organisations who perform business functions on our behalf, some of whom are outside the UK/EEA. Due to privacy laws, China Visa Services is unable to discuss your personal details and/or visa applications with any third party enquiring on your behalf (including family) unless you provide your consent authorising us to do so.

IP ADDRESSES AND COOKIES

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

Outside the European Economic Area, controls on data protection may not be as wide as the legal requirements in this country. The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

Please note that China Visa Services is a servicing agent and is not associated with either the Chinese Embassy or any Government. In many cases Embassies charge a fee for handling visas, if we handle your application a fee is charged for advising and helping with the requirements and preparation of your visa. Additionally, we will send a courier to collect the visa so you don’t have to queue. The services and forms we use are available from the Government for a lower cost.
