Instructions for All Applicants

The information given below provides general guidelines for making your visa application, for further detailed information to specific areas of travel in China or for specific/special needs, travellers please contact the Chinese Consulate or Embassy in London/Manchester/Edinburgh.

The following documents must be submitted together with your visa application form:-

• Passport must be at least valid for six months from the date of departure, ALSO, there must be at least 2 blank pages in the passport for visa processing.
• A completed visa application form which can be downloaded from our website.
• A recent passport-sized photo must be on your application form.
• Also be sure to clearly indicate your postal address on the envelope or on a separate piece of paper.
• No Visa application can be processed 60 days before departure.

For Business Visa applications, an original invitation letter must be submitted, the invitation letter may be obtained from a company / institution in China, or issued by an authorised unit in China. (The invitation letter should include full name and passport number of the invitee as well as the purpose and duration of the visit)

Note 1. For applicants from some specific countries, additional documents other than those mentioned above may be required.

Note 2. Applicants should check the issued visa upon collection and if necessary raise any queries at the same time. If there is no immediate query relating to the issued visa, the applicant is held responsible under any circumstances thereafter.
